Treat yourself to a new experience courtesy of the concert series simply known as “Candlelight“. You have (most likely) been to a concert of some kind before, but you’ve never been to a Candlelight concert, or at least you haven’t in Nottingham – yet. A Candlelight concert celebrates and brings to life the works of musical icons, beloved film scores, or even entire genres in only the most magical locations.
Candlelight is no newbie either. Candlelight has been running shows in London, Manchester, New York, Barcelona, and beyond for years. This November they are breaking new ground and taking over gorgeous venues across Nottingham to bring the experience that has wowed audiences globally just a little more local to you.
The first venue announced for Nottingham is one of the largest art galleries in the UK, Nottingham Contemporary. The elegant building sunk into sandstone cliffs sits on one of the oldest sites in the city. Whilst it usually plays host to exhibitions and family activities, this November it is going to be the home of Nottingham’s Candlelight concerts.
Some of these enchanting concerts will feature Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Mozart’s Requiem, and those are just the ones announced currently. This is all thanks to the talented musicians that will be captivating audiences on the respective nights. With classics echoing through historic and elegant venues and countless flickering candles illuminating each unique space, the Nottingham Candlelight concerts will present a collection of jazz and classical music over the course of 65 mesmerizing minutes.
The Candlelight series takes place twice each night with two back to back 60-65 minute performances. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show.
Note: For the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
