Savannah Jazz Festival, Jazz’d Tapas Bar, Rancho Alegre — we love hosting jazz in Savannah. In fact, the genre’s legacy runs deep in the city, with greats like Johnny Mercer, James Moody and Irene Reid coming here to play in their prime. Now, ‘The Jazz Room’ in Savannah continues this legacy with a series of NOLA-inspired jazz concerts. A live jazz band journeys through the genre’s greatest hits, combining performances of songs by the likes of Louis Armstrong with groovy improvisations, all while you sit back with a drink in hand.
What is “The Jazz Room” ?
Step off the busy street and into the embrace of The Jazz Room, where velvet lighting and a 1920s NOLA vibe set the mood for music that’s all about connection. Jazz, blues, or soul—each night puts one front and center, never mixing, always distinct. The professionals up front craft a soundtrack that leaps between tight arrangements and off-the-cuff solos, inviting the crowd to savor music in both its timeless and spontaneous forms. The stories behind every song are as important as the melodies.
Listen closely—on a soul night, a rendition of “Let’s Stay Together” will weave through the crowd. Jazz heads can catch “When The Saints Go Marching In.” You might just feel like you’re part of the next chapter in jazz’s never-ending journey.
The Jazz Room in Savannah: Which concerts are on now?
The Jazz Room: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans
Traditional jazz finds new light in this flagship show, where the vibrant mix of brass, ragtime and blues recreates the festive sounds that first animated New Orleans streets. With atmospheric lighting and intimate table settings, the concert immerses the audience in jazz’s improvisational roots, breathing new energy into melodies that forged an entire musical era, from “On the Sunny Side of the Street” to “Hello Dolly”.
Select your show, arrive early, and grab your seat—the magic begins when the musicians take the stage, and lingers long after the last note fades. Each show lasts 60 minutes and seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis in each zone, so we recommend getting to Victory North Savannah with some time to spare.
