Summer’s almost come to a close, and while some are wallowing in despair, there are those lucky few who simply cannot wait for the spooky season. To get you pumped for this year’s Halloween, we’re happy to announce that Tucson’s iconic Slaughterhouse is back, coming to 1102 W Grant Rd on September 27!
What started as a meatpacking plant in 1950 turned into five terrifying attractions in 2009: the infested Boiler Room, Cirque du Slay, City Meats, and The Apocalypse. And a few years back, Slaughterhouse transformed these five haunts into one of the longest haunted houses in the world! It’s a no-brainer Halloween destination that you don’t want to miss out on.
And to celebrate its 20th year, Slaughterhouse is teaming up with the bizarre and breathtaking Hellzapoppin Circus Show, the world’s greatest rock-n-roll freak show! Witness jaw-dropping stunts, fire-breathing acts, and mind-bending illusions when Hellzapoppin makes their Slaughterhouse debut October 3.
At Slaughterhouse you can expect larger-than-life props, animatronics and other updates will have you praying for mercy: the haunted house includes an outdoor area, VR haunted home and an ax-throwing section on top of a very special experience… a full-on zombie shooting. You’ll have to upgrade your ticket to partake in the carnage, and you can do so right here once tickets are released.
Slaughterhouse is by far Tucson’s scariest haunted house… that might be actually haunted. In 2018, it was featured on the fourteenth season of Ghost Adventures, where special guest Post Malone traveled to Arizona with a camera crew to investigate the meatpacking plant-turned-haunted attraction. Don’t get the hype? It was also rated #1 haunted house in the country in 2021 by Scurryface, out of 85+ haunted houses all over the U.S.
The chilling event has 4.4 star reviews on Google, with rows and rows of comments praising their experience:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Slaughterhouse is our favorite haunted house!!! We make the drive from Phoenix every year and is worth the drive. We just left Slaughterhouse and it did not disappoint. The actors were on point with makeup, acting, and all around creepy/scariness.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh my gosh never had so many scares in my life great job guys I’ve been to a lot of haunted houses don’t think I’ve jumped that many times.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terrified the entire way through it was a very intense experience and definitely would go again the actors did an amazing job on making us scared to the point where we were shoving each other trying to run away.
