Candlelight: A Tribute to Pink Floyd
From their beginnings in the mid-1960s as The Pink Floyd Sound, the band released songs full of elaborate instrumentation and philosophical lyrics that offered a critical reflection to social and economic issues of the time. Although band members left and joined the group and their sound evolved from psychedelic to progressive rock, Pink Floyd remains one of the greatest bands of all time, pioneering the music genre and the incorporation of visual effects to their live shows.
This season, listen to the thought-provoking melodies of Pink Floyd, including “Another Brick In The Wall”, “On The Run” and “The Great Gig In The Sky” at one of Canada’s leading art museums, the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
Candlelight is an unforgettable musical experience that combines timeless music with the stunning visuals of hundreds of candles, flickering in some of the most gorgeous venues in the city. This season, you can experience a transcending tribute to Pink Floyd at the artistic Winnipeg Art Gallery. There are two back-to-back performances planned, at 6:30pm and 8:30pm, and doors open 45 minutes prior to the start of the show.
