What is the trial about?
Artificial intelligence has become the modern elephant in the room. After years of conspiratorial films about robots taking over our race as humans (if that’s what we can still call ourselves), it seems those warnings may have finally caught up with us. It makes us uneasy, but we’ve shaped our lives around needing them. So, what happens when a self-driving car becomes a defendant? If self-operating machines have made their way into our judicial system, can they truly be held accountable? Well, it’s yours to decide.

Taking place in Winnipeg Art Gallery, the trial will last between 60-75 minutes. By combining role-playing, prop evidence, and witness statements, participants are drawn into the legal complexities of the court case through opening and closing arguments. This immersive experience will really make you feel like you’re in court and is appropriate for anyone aged 12 and above. It offers you the opportunity to understand the justice system in its truest form and discover what it feels like to hold someone’s life in your hands.
